A dozen members of the Four Corners Board of Realtors recently provided some 40 hours of volunteer work to Habitat For Humanity of Montezuma County on the future home of a Habitat partner family.

This home, on East Second, is the fourth that Montezuma Habitat is providing to a qualifying partner family in need of affordable, safe housing. All families must work a minimum of 200 hours of sweat equity per adult before acquiring their home.

“The enthusiastic work of our local realtors was a big help to the project,” says Habitat board president Gary Harding, “and we thank them for giving back to the community in this way.”

Thanks also go to Four Corners Board of Realtors Association Executive Denise Unrein, who coordinated the project.

Montezuma Habitat is holding a free public meeting Tuesday, May 17, at 6 p.m. for Montezuma County residents who want to learn about the process of becoming a Habitat partner family. The meeting is at the Calvin Denton Community Room at Empire Electric.
