In a surprising and unheralded move on March 13 the board of the Cortez Cultural Center let me know that they no longer support me in any respect as the executive director. I cannot serve without their support and so, with regret, I submitted my letter of resignation – effective immediately – at the March 17 board meeting.

I wanted to let the community know that I did my best to serve the center and make wise choices with our limited resources. I strongly disagree with the board’s decision and with its evaluation of my performance and I said so. My volunteers were told that I left to “pursue other opportunities” and nothing could be further from the truth.

Thanks for the trust you placed in me and the opportunity to serve.
